Nationwide Barcode owns multiple GS1-issued prefixes. Each prefix yields up to 100,000 UPC/EAN numbers. While prefixes may appear under various trade names we control, all UPCs/EANs sold are unused and unique.

We guarantee that all numbers are pristine, never used, and not duplicated. We retain ownership and management of the prefix and sell you a subset of numbers. Most retailers accept reseller barcodes, as their POS systems link your product info to the number. If your retailer requires your own prefix, you must purchase directly from GS1.

Retailer Acceptance

Our UPC/EANs are not accepted by the following retailers: Kroger, Walmart/Sam's Club, JCPenney, and Macy's/Bloomingdale's.

They may not be accepted by Lowe's, Home Depot, Walgreens, Albertsons, Sears, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and other large chains, as well as EDI/ESI providers tied to Walmart/Kroger.

You are responsible for confirming the retailer's requirements before making a purchase.

GEPIR/GS1 Lookup

Lookups show the prefix owner/trade name, not your product. We do not provide internal ownership documents or letters from legacy companies.

Guarantee

  • All UPC (12-digit) and EAN (13-digit) barcodes are legitimate, accurate, unique, and never reused.
  • If any number is found to be duplicated or recycled, you may be eligible for a replacement or a full refund, depending on our guarantee.
  • We sell full rights to the numbers you purchase, not GS1 membership, prefixes, GLNs, or UCC codes.

Refunds

Refunds follow our limited policy. Once numbers are issued and emailed, replacements/refunds apply only under the guarantee above.

Delivery & Your Responsibilities

Barcodes are generated and delivered immediately via download page and email. You must:

  • Notify us immediately if you do not receive your email.
  • Keep your certificate, barcode list, and graphics.
  • Use each UPC/EAN code for only one product.
  • Resale or transfer of numbers requires written permission.

Amazon Sellers

Before Buying

  • Because refunds are limited, consider purchasing 1–10 UPCs as a test before ordering larger quantities—and read this page fully.

  • Do not print labels until your product is successfully listed on Amazon.

  • Current success rates: Amazon ~95%, Google 100%, Walmart.com 100%.

  • If you need your name on a GS1 certificate, you must buy directly from GS1.

About Our UPCs

  • Our prefixes are pre-2002 GS1/UCC, so they are not part of the current GS1 lease model.

  • We sell unused numbers from licensed prefixes; ownership of the UPCs you buy is transferred to you.

  • A GS1/GEPIR lookup will show the original prefix owner, not your company name.

Amazon Notes

Most Amazon sellers use our UPCs without issue, but problems occur if:

  • You’re in the Amazon Brand Registry

  • You list bundles of national brands

  • You use Amazon EDI

Legal

Purchaser agrees to indemnify and hold harmless RSS Inc., M2 Publishing, Nationwide Barcode, and 680 Digital against claims related to the use of UPC/EANs.We reserve the right to refuse service to any business. We will not provide barcodes to companies promoting hate, violence, racism, or sexism. Your sole remedy for disputes is a full refund.

GUARANTEE
DIGITAL MARKETPLACE (Amazon, Walmart.com, Etsy, eBay, Google Merchant, etc):
Nationwide Barcode has a 15-day 100% refund guarantee from the date of purchase should you find that the UPCs/EANs are not working for any reason. (Limited to orders of 250 UPCs/EANs or less) After the 15 days (and no longer than 90 days after purchase), at our option, we will replace the barcodes should you find that there is an issue. There are no refunds after the 15-day period. There is no guarantee or warranty after the 90 days.
BRICK AND MORTAR and all orders of 250+ UPCs/EANs:
Before purchasing, you are responsible for discussing 3rd party UPCs/EANs with your retailer(s). There are no refunds or guarantees.

General Terms We will add you to our email list for periodic emails about UPCs, EANs, industry news and sales. You may opt-out at any time. We promise not to over-email, and your purchasing is an agreement that we may add you to our email list.

The headings in this agreement are for reference only. This agreement shall be interpreted under Washington law and is subject to the jurisdiction of the state of Washington, King County. Should there need to be litigation against 680 Digital/Nationwide Barcode, this must be in this jurisdiction.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for cash. Some of the technologies we use for analytics and advertising, described below, may fall under the broader legal definition of “sale” or “share” used in California and similar state laws, even though no money is exchanged. We do not store full payment card numbers. Our payment processors are PCI-DSS compliant.

  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@nationwidebarcode.com. We will ask you to verify your identity before processing most requests, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally 45 days, with a possible 45-day extension for more complex requests.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the rights listed above, along with a few specifics:

  • We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, without requiring any additional action from you.
  • You may also opt out by emailing us at info@nationwidebarcode.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.”
  • In the past twelve months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (such as name and email address), customer records information (such as billing address and phone number), commercial information (such as order history), and internet activity (such as browsing behavior on this site). We have not collected biometric information, precise geolocation, or other sensitive personal information categories.
  • We have disclosed identifiers, customer records information, and internet activity to service providers as described above for business purposes.
  • Depending on how the law characterizes our use of analytics and advertising cookies, this disclosure may be considered a “share” under the CCPA’s definition, which is why the GPC and opt-out options above are available to you regardless.

Whether the CCPA’s full requirements legally apply to a business of our size depends on annual revenue and data volume thresholds set by the statute. We are extending CCPA-style rights to California visitors as a matter of policy regardless of whether those thresholds are met.

Residents of Other States

A number of other states, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and several others, have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws with rights similar to those described above. If you reside in one of these states, you may exercise the same rights through the same contact information, and we will honor your request consistent with the law that applies to you.

European Economic Area, UK, and GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we act as the data controller for personal information collected through this site. Our legal basis for processing your information depends on the context, and is typically your consent, the need to perform a contract with you (such as fulfilling an order), or our legitimate business interests. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a legacy “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. We do not currently respond to DNT signals, since there is no common industry standard for what that signal should trigger. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described above, which has the effect of opting you out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Usage data collected through analytics tools is generally retained for a shorter period unless needed for security or legal reasons.

Data Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate. By using this site, you consent to this transfer, which we manage with appropriate safeguards.
